"The "Joker" costume and especially the make-up was a huge hit at the party. Thanks again for your excellent work. It was a pleasure meeting you."

You made me prettier than I've ever been!

Monday, September 20, 2010

Hi Chailling,

Thank you so much for a job well done on my hair and make-up. I cried tears of joy all day, and my make-up stayed fresh and wonderful, without needing any touch-ups! You made me prettier than I've ever been, and I am so thankful that I found you at that Bridal Show in Cerritos.
Best of luck with your art!

Skin care and hair tips for brides to be -

Wednesday, July 7, 2010

* Facials: If you don't get a facial on a regular basis, you probably don't want to risk getting one soon before your wedding day as you don't know how your skin will react to the facial treatment. If you want a facial, it's best to try one first a month before your wedding day. If you need another one closer to your wedding day, then get another one two weeks before your wedding day. You can also start using facial mask at home once a week for at least two months prior to your wedding day.

* Eyebrow Threads/Waxing: I suggest you not get your eyebrows threaded or waxed for a few days prior to your wedding day, especially if you don't have them done on a regular basis. Your skin might become irritated and/or there may be redness around your eyebrow area. It's best to get them done about a week before your wedding day. The best solution is to have your wedding makeup artist do the job for you. How do you know if she/he will do a good job? That's what a "makeup trial" is for!

* Food: Try not to eat anything that is deep fried, too salty, or too spicy at least for two months before your big day. Drinking plenty of water is always a good idea for your skin, but not on your wedding day as you don't want to keep going to the lady's room in your wedding gown. Eat lots of fresh fruits and rough vegetables for at least two months prior to your wedding day.

* Lips: Most people don't pay much attention to lips. In order to look sexy, you have to take good care of your lips. There are some lip care product on the market you can purchase. You might want to start using some to keep your lips moist at all times.

* Hair Length: Having more and longer hair is always a plus when it comes to wedding hair styling. I would advise against cutting or having your hair layered within 6 months of your wedding, unless you want a specific hair style for your wedding that requires your hair designer to shape it for you. Otherwise, the more hair the merrier.

* Hair Color: If you want to highlight or dye your hair, I suggest you do so before your "hair trial". That way the hair stylist can match the best hair style with your hair color and texture.

* Hair Condition: Wash your hair the night before your wedding day. Your hair will be easier to style.

Your makeup artist and hair stylist can only work with what you have. So work it, girl!

How to find a makeup artist and a hair stylist for your wedding?

Tuesday, July 6, 2010

Your wedding is a once-in-a-lifetime event. On that special day, you will want to have a competent professional makeup artist and hair stylist lined up and ready to put your perfect look together. You should meet with your makeup artist/stylist in advance of your wedding to try different looks and colors, and to settle on the look you want to achieve for your wedding day. Having your make-up and hair style pre-arranged will save you time and reduce stress on your big day. The makeup artist/hair stylist should be willing to travel to your wedding day location, as the last thing you need is to be running around on your wedding day.

To be on the safe side, you should start searching for your makeup artist and hair stylist at least 6 months prior to your wedding date. Good makeup artists are in demand, and you want to prevent an overlap with another bride on your wedding day.
A good bridal makeup artist will know how to make you look radiant in photos as well as look beautiful in person.

Here are few more tips on finding a makeup artist and a hair stylist:

  1. Read the reviews of his/her past clients.
  2. See photos of his/her past clients.
  3. Chat with him/her on the phone and get a feel for the person: you want someone who is professional and dedicated to making you look your best.
  4. Definitely ask for a makeup and hair "trial run": try different colors and styles, and see for yourself if you like the stylist's work. Communication is key.
  5. Anyone can tell you they "do makeup", but a good makeup artist knows how to match the right colors to your complexion and how to achieve the look that will complement your wedding theme.
  6. Most hair dressers know how to style, but they don't specialize in wedding hair styling: look for a stylist who is an expert at wedding hair styles.

she wanted me to LOVE my hair, not just be OK with it.

Chailling did my hair and hair and make up for my mother and my mother-in-law. I will echo many of the other reviews about Chailling being professional, very attentive to detail and talented. What I can add is that she has a wonderful personality that is extremely calming. You have enough to stress about when choosing vendors for your wedding - this one was a no-brainer. She was professional, honest, extremely reasonably priced and was so flexible and willing to do a couple of hair trials until we were both really happy. One thing she told me is that she wanted me to LOVE my hair, not just be OK with it. And she was willing to put a lot of time into getting us all to love our hair. We all LOVED our hair and make up. You will too if you choose Chailling.

She's the best!

I had the honor of receiving a free hair and makeup session from Chailling . She was so friendly and easy to work with. Even though it was a free session she put a lot of time and effort into my look. My hair looked gorgeous , I love love loved my makeup. I wish I could bring Chailling everywhere with me to make me look that beautiful again and again. I also have to mention how gentle she was while applying the makeup and doing my hair. She constantly asked my opinion and wanted to know if I wanted to make any changes . I felt completely comfortable with her.

It was a wonderful experience working with Chailling . She made me look and feel beautiful. My make-up lasted whole day and night. Even after tons of hugs and kisses, tears and breakdowns! I didn't need any touch-ups. I was worry free. I would recommend her to anybody looking to get their makeup done for any event. She's the best!

Hair and makeup held perfectly for over 14 hours!

"Chailling did a great job on my hair and makeup for my wedding day! She worked hard with her schedule to accommodate me as I had to request her at the last minute and she had a client booked earlier the same day. Nevertheless, she showed up at my hotel right on time and ready to go. Chailling was professional and took the time to work with me to get my hair and makeup exactly how I wanted it on my big day! Chailling was attentive to my wishes and when I didn't like a certain way the makeup was done, she would listen to me and adjust accordingly until everything was perfect. It was a very long day and reception but her hair and makeup held perfectly for over 14 hours! Thank you Chailling!"

I was very pleased and so was my husband.

Working with Chailling was a great experience. She listened to what I wanted and also gave some input.
My hair and makeup held very well the all evening.
She is really talented and I will definitely work with her in the future.

If I could describe Chailling in 3 words, they would have to be Professional, Attentive, and Sweetheart. Her passion for makeup definitely shows in the great work that she does. A few years ago I had a makeover done by Chailling and I absolutely loved it. She is so easy to talk to, gentle and makes your face look so flawless and natural. After that makeover, I already knew I wanted Chailling to do my makeup again! So I asked her if she would be willing to do my Wedding Makeup. She is very punctual, prepared, and makes sure that your makeup looks the way you want it to look. On the day of my wedding, my makeup looked awesome and it stayed on the whole day. I didn』t need to touch up at all, maybe just my lips. She has a gift and made me feel very comfortable and confident. I would strongly recommend using Chailling as a makeup artist for any occasion.
